Access Management allows you to create new access rules or change existing ones. It depends on the availability of the Access synchronisation service if these changes will be immediately applied to the locks and IQs.

Access Synchronisation is the service that actually processes the new or changed access rules and applies them. If this service is not operational, any changes made to access rules on the platform will not be put into immediate action. Once the service is restored, all pending changes will be processed.

Any event generated from locks or IQs in the field will be transferred to the platform and enriched before it is stored. If this service is not operational, visibility of events will be delayed and there will be no notifications sent via email or push message. After the service is restored, processing the buffered events might take a while and notifications that are not relevant anymore will not be sent. No events are expected to be lost at any time.

This service takes care of the authentication of users and 3rd party services. If it is not available, logged out or new users will not be able to log in and eventually tokens will start expiring causing existing sessions to be terminated. Newly invited users will also not be able to complete their profile.

No matter what the status of the platform is, normal lock openings based on existing access rules will be handled correctly. The only exception is the remote opening. This type of opening is initiated from the platform and need to be able to connect to the IQ from the cloud. This method of opening is also used by several salto solutions like XS4Com and XS4Face, but also by 3rd party integrations.
